Gretchen Kovac Construction means ... ”Developer of Dreams.” Gretchen’s company started in 1976 in
subdivision development, designing, building, and selling. Her company is still doing these same components today.
These homes are designed for young professionals, retirees, growing families and move-up buyers. The company’s goal is to
have the diverisity to meet anyone’s needs. Her homes are recognized as a “Kovac Built” home when prospective buyers,
real estate agents and appraisers walk in. Gretchen’s son, Joe Magee, Jr., a licensed builder, has worked in the company
20 years. He serves as job supervisor overseeing daily operations.
With over 30 years of experience, Gretchen builds an average of 20 houses annually and keeps 3 subdivisions going. In
addition, she has been involved in
numerous community activities. Some of these activities include, 4 term president for
Home Builders Association of Northeast Louisiana, 6 years of service on Monroe/West Monroe Convention Vistors Board,
West Monroe Chamber of Commerce Board Member, award recipient of “Louisiana Home Builder of The Year”, the first
female to serve as State LHBA President, as well as being inducted into Louisiana Home Builders “Hall of Fame.”
In addition, she received the “Rivertown Award of Excellence” in 1993 and most recently she received the A.O. Evans
Award from the West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce.
