Gretchen Kovac is the President of Gretchen Kovac Construction, Inc. that was formed in 1992 as the development arm of Gretchen’s building business. Gretchen operated as a sole proprietor from 1976 until the corporation formed in 1992. Gretchen Kovac’s objective has always been to build a quality product at a competitive price. Gretchen has developed subdivisions in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana and her current subdivisions are
Gretchen’s Walk, Wellerman Road, West Monroe, LA; Watson Place, Wallace Dean Road, West Monroe, LA; Bayou Bend Unit I, II, and III, close to St. Francis North Hospital off Old Sterlington Hwy, Monroe, LA; Travelers Rest, White Ferry Road, West Monroe, LA; and River Point, Tupawek Road, West Monroe, LA
Gretchen Kovac Construction operates at a very steady pace year round and caters to the housing needs of retirees, young families, custom homes and move up buyers. Gretchen Kovac Construction builds about 20 to 25 houses a year. With the growth of the company, Gretchen has help from her two sons, Joe Magee, Jr and Marty Magee. Joe Magee, Jr. has his contractor’s license and Marty is working toward that goal. Joey and Marty, help to oversee daily operations while Gretchen works with clients in planning and design. Gretchen also works in the marketing and development of residential subdivisions.

Gretchen has always been involved in community activities and is currently serving on the Louisiana Tourism and Convention Board for Ouachita Parish. Gretchen has served several times in the capacity of President of the Northeast LA Homebuilders Association and continues to serve on the board to date. Gretchen was the first female to be inducted into the Louisiana Home Builders Hall of Fame.
